Castaways and Latitude 26° Are Now Open at Fishermen’s Village
Punta Gorda, FL (October 2026) – The waterfront makeover at Fishermen’s Village is complete. Both new restaurants from Tidewater Hospitality Group are now open in the building that housed Harpoon Harry’s and The Captain’s Table for years: Latitude 26° upstairs and Castaways downstairs. Together they give the harbor end of the Village two very different ways to eat on the water.
Latitude 26°: dinner with a harbor view
Latitude 26° opened on June 29, 2026, on the second floor of the former Captain’s Table space. It’s the dressier of the two, with seafood, hand-cut steaks, prime rib, craft cocktails and a long wine list. Nearly every seat looks out over Charlotte Harbor, and the upstairs patio is a great spot for sunset. You can reach it by stairs or by elevator.
- Best for: a special dinner, date night, or sunset cocktails
- Hours: 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday
Castaways: casual, tropical and right on the water
Castaways opened on September 14, 2026, in the old Harpoon Harry’s space on the ground floor. Think Key West bar and grill: bright murals of Punta Gorda, a big central bar with 180-degree water views, and plenty of room, with about 430 seats. The menu covers wings, burgers, tacos, sandwiches, fry baskets, crab cakes, shrimp ceviche and seafood plates, some with Caribbean flavors. Many items are under $20. Live music is planned for the outdoor deck.
- Best for: families, groups, lunch after a morning on the water, and a frozen drink by the harbor
- Hours: 10:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, 10:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday
Getting there from Punta Gorda Getaway
Fishermen’s Village is about 8 minutes from our house by car, at 1200 W. Retta Esplanade. With a group of 12, Castaways makes an easy lunch spot, and Latitude 26° is a good choice for one nicer dinner during your stay.
